Have you heard all the rave about Orangetheory Fitness? I had been hearing about it for a while and wanted to check it out. I’m a firm believer in interval training and I heard it was a great workout, so when a studio opened in Santa Monica I dropped in to break a sweat.
The skinny: It’s a 60-minute interval training class with cardio & strength training. They monitor your heart rate to keep you in your target zone, which will help you burn calories up to 36 hours post workout. Yowzer!
My two cents: I loved it. Great equipment, especially the Row Machine, which has actual water in it…so cool! The instructors were awesome and high energy. I really liked the music, which is important to me. My favorite part about the workout was watching my heart rate on the monitor above and seeing which zone I was in. That’s what sets them apart and it works! It really pushes and challenges you, but makes it fun. They have it figured out for sure. I loved the workout and love their theory. I am going back for sure.
